How to play
Morning Scramble is a daily word puzzle. Five scrambled words, each a little longer than the last. Together they point to one theme answer.
- Unscramble the words, one at a time.
- Watch out: some scrambles spell more than one real word, but only one fits the puzzle’s theme. Proper nouns sometimes appear.
- Once every word is unscrambled, enter the theme answer.
Score: your time, plus 30 seconds for each word that doesn’t fit the theme.
Strategy & Tips
- Beware red herrings. Some perfectly valid anagrams don't fit the theme.
- Names count. Words can be proper nouns, like places or people.
- Stuck on a long word? Go back and review your words. If no theme is obvious, you might have an incorrect anagram.
- Review your words before you answer. A word that doesn’t fit the theme costs 30 seconds. Hints are available — for a time penalty.
